The
Santa Barbara Knitting Studio Basketweave Scarf
Scarf measures approximately 4½" wide by 52" long. Knitted on US #9 (5.5mm) needles with 2 balls of Pima Silk from Cascade Yarns (50 grams, 109 yards; 85% Pima Cotton, 15% Silk). Or, use any smooth worsted weight yarn for a scarf the same width. To change widths, use either thicker or thinner yarn and larger or smaller needles.

This
pattern is simply a combination of K2, P2 ribbing and wide garter ribs - it's how they
combine that makes the stitch so interesting. The ribbing pulls the stitches together, the
garter ribs push them apart to form an almost scalloped effect.
