In fingering weight yarn scarf measures approximately 8" wide by 48" or 54" in length on US Size 6 (4mm) needles. Size will vary slightly with different weights of yarn. For a wider, warmer scarf, choose a sport or dk weight yarn. Model is made in Shepherd Sock yarn from Lorna's Laces Yarns. Yarn Requirements: Approximately 375 yards for the 48" length or 425 yards for the 54" length of fingering or lace weight yarn. Other weights of yarn may be used, adjusting needle size accordingly, and will vary the amounts of yardage needed.
