Falling Leaves Scarf
(This pattern is in the book, Simply Scarves)

This pattern is much simpler to knit than it looks! The pattern consists of only four rows, two of which are purl. And it's very easy to memorize, but it makes such a beautiful pattern.

Scarf measures approximately 5½" wide by 58" long. Knitted on US #8 (5mm) needles with 2 skeins of Pima Tencel from Cascade Yarns (50 grams, 109 yards; 50% Pima Cotton, 50% Tencel).

Or, use any smooth worsted weight yarn.
